Seatly vs Quandoo

Quandoo is closing. Here is your UK replacement.

Quandoo stops taking new bookings on 30 September 2026. Seatly is a UK-built, flat-fee booking platform for independent restaurants. No per-cover fees. No annual contracts. Setup waived for founding members.

What is happening to Quandoo

On 26 March 2026, Quandoo announced that it is winding down its global restaurant booking platform. The shutdown affects every market Quandoo operates in, including the United Kingdom. The closure is being handled in stages so restaurants and diners have time to plan.

For independent UK restaurants, the practical question is simple: what replaces Quandoo, and when do you switch? You have roughly fivemonths from now to move bookings onto a new platform without scrambling.

Side-by-side comparison

Quandoo figures are taken from Quandoo's own UK partner pricing page, accurate as of April 2026. Per-cover fees apply to bookings made through the Quandoo Partner Network (their app, website, and partner sites). Bookings via your own widget or direct channels are not charged a per-cover fee on Quandoo. Always verify current pricing directly with the provider.

The maths on a real restaurant

A 40-cover independent on Quandoo Pro, taking around 50 covers a month through the Quandoo network in addition to direct bookings on their own website. The per-cover fee on those network covers is what drives most of the bill.

Quandoo Pro

£234

per month

Subscription: £39

50 network covers × £3.90: £195

Seatly Professional

£89

per month

Subscription: £89

Per-cover fees: £0

Annual difference at that mix

£1,740

Every year. Staying with you, not going to a booking platform.

Figures are illustrative. Quandoo subscription and per-cover rates are taken from Quandoo's published UK partner pricing as of April 2026. Quandoo's per-cover fee applies to bookings made through the Quandoo Partner Network only — covers from your own website, social media, or Google integrations are not charged a per-cover fee on Quandoo. Setup fee (£249 on Pro) is not included in the comparison above. The more of your bookings flow through the Quandoo network, the larger the gap becomes.

What you keep when you switch

  • 01. Your customers. Every diner who books becomes a record in your database. Names, emails, booking history — yours to keep, export, or delete. No platform shutdown can take that away.
  • 02. Your brand. The booking widget shows your colours, fonts, and restaurant name. Not ours. No "Seatly" branding in the widget by default.*
  • 03. Your traffic. Diners book directly on your website. No redirect to a marketplace. No competing restaurants surfaced on your booking flow.
  • 04. Your margins. The £3.90-per-cover charge disappears. The savings compound every month, every year, for as long as you take bookings.

A sensible migration timeline

Five months is plenty of time, but only if you do not leave it to August. Here is what we recommend for a calm, no-drama handover.

  1. 01. Now (April–May). Export your booking and customer data from the Quandoo Partner Hub. Pick a replacement platform. If that's Seatly, register interest below and we'll arrange a call.
  2. 02. June. Run Seatly in parallel. The Seatly widget goes on your own website. Quandoo continues to serve any bookings already in their system. Train your team on the new admin dashboard.
  3. 03. July–August. Direct your social media, Google Business profile, and any other inbound links at your own website (which now uses the Seatly widget). Start steering new bookings to Seatly while honouring existing Quandoo reservations.
  4. 04. By 30 September. All new bookings flowing through Seatly. Final Quandoo data export downloaded and stored. The handover is complete before the platform stops taking new reservations.

We're onboarding the first cohort of UK independents personally. If you're on Quandoo and ready to plan the move, get in touch and we'll walk you through it end-to-end.

Common questions

When exactly is Quandoo closing?
Quandoo announced its closure on 26 March 2026. The platform stops accepting new bookings on 30 September 2026, consumer services end on 1 October 2026, and the website, app, and infrastructure are scheduled to be removed by 31 December 2026. Bookings made before 30 September with dining dates afterwards remain valid, and Quandoo has said it will forward those reservation details to restaurants directly.
How does Seatly compare to what I was paying Quandoo?
Quandoo's public UK pricing is Pro at £39 per month plus a £249 setup fee, or Premium at £99 per month plus a £749 setup fee, with £3.90 per cover on bookings through the Quandoo Partner Network. Seatly is a flat £59 to £129 per month with no per-cover fees and no setup fee for founding members. The per-cover charge is the dominant cost on Quandoo for most independents, so the size of the gap depends on how many of your covers came through the Quandoo network rather than direct.
Can I export my Quandoo customer data before the platform shuts down?
Yes. Quandoo has confirmed its support team will help partners export data ahead of the shutdown, and the Quandoo Partner Hub provides reservation and customer reporting tools you can export from. We recommend doing this before 30 September so you have your own copy regardless of how the post-closure period plays out. Seatly can accept that historical data during onboarding.
Does the Seatly widget work on my existing website?
Yes. One line of JavaScript, pasted into your site. WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, or a fully custom site — all tested. The widget is fully white-labelled to your brand, and the booking flow stays on your website rather than redirecting to a marketplace.
I am still inside a Quandoo contract — can I switch now?
Most restaurants on Quandoo can run a parallel booking widget on their own website immediately, even before their formal contract end date — Seatly handles direct bookings while Quandoo continues to handle the bookings already in their system. Specific contract terms vary per partner, so check your individual Service Agreement before formally cancelling. Either way, the platform shuts on 30 September 2026, so transitioning earlier reduces the chance of losing bookings during the changeover.

Plan the switch before September

We're onboarding UK independents into the first cohort right now and giving Quandoo refugees priority. Tell us about your venue and we'll walk you through the handover personally.

* A note on Seatly branding. Seatly branding is not shown in the booking widget by default — the widget stays under your colours, fonts, and restaurant name. Seatly branding can appear in two places, and both are optional: (1) confirmation, reminder, and cancellation emails include a small "powered by seatly.uk" line in the footer by default, but this can be turned off per tenant on request; (2) restaurants who opt into our referral programme can enable a "Powered by Seatly" badge on the widget in exchange for a subscription discount — this is off by default.
